The San Francisco Chronicle reports videos and photos taken by inexpensive drones are being used effectively to help sell even moderately priced homes in the Bay Area. Often times ground-level photos are not overly impressive but aerial shots can add real excitement to even the most mundane location. These drones are generally small remote-controlled quadcopters (4 rotators) equipped with an inexpensive video camera such as a GoPro.
the drones effectiveness as a selling tool is unquestioned; what is in doubt is whether the FAA will eventually crack down on such usage for commercial purposes. Current regulations allow the usage of drones for “recreational purposes’ only.
