Increase in Hispanic Home Ownership

According to a recent report published by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, Hispanics are expected to comprise 50% of new home buyers by 2020. Hispanics accounted for nearly 47% of all home ownership in the United States between 2000 and 2013, and, as the Hispanic population continues to increase, this percentage will certainly rise.

According to Jason Madiedo, president of NAHREP, “This is a story of pent-up demand. Latinos are ready to buy homes now. Their biggest obstacle coming into today’s market isn’t credit; it’s lack of available housing. ”
