According to a monthly analysis by Realtor.com home is the San Francisco Bay Area (which includes Oakland, Hayward, and surrounding communities) averaged 34 days on the market in October – the fastest selling rate in the country. In fact, of the 20 hottest markets in the United States 11 are in California.
The median price for Bay Area hoes (again, including San Francisco) was $830,000 in October – up 7.8 percent from a year earlier.
Due to the continued demand for homes, inventory in the Bay Area dropped 11 percent from October 2015 as homes sold 2 percent faster.
