Zillow is reporting that homes in cities are now worth 2 percent more than suburban homes. This is a significant turn-around from as recently as 2013 when urban homes were worth 1.2 percent less than comparable homes in the suburbs.
According to analysts, cities are currently in high-demand with young people who are looking for amenities and walkable areas closer to their workplace.
However, it should be noted that with a low inventory of desirable homes in many cities, would-be buyers are being forced to look to the suburbs in order to buy.
