According to a recent report in The Wall Street Journal, words and descriptions that realtors use in their listing ads may go a long way in the home selling for a premium price. For example, property descriptor words in listing ads, like “wood-burning fireplace” and “granite countertops” can actually help fetch higher sales prices.
The study also found that positive words such as “fabulous” or “beautiful” can help increase the price by 0.9 percent.
The report concluded, however, that such descriptors must be carefully chosen as over-exaggeration is counter-productive.
